Virgin Media O2 Amber Valley FTTH – Network deployment

Trace successfully delivered the Amber Valley FTTH project, supporting the rollout of Virgin Media’s ultrafast fibre connectivity across the region through the installation of a high-performance full fibre network infrastructure.

The project involved extensive subduct installation to support fibre deployment, alongside small civils works including trenching, duct preparation, and reinstatement to enable efficient network build activities. Spine backbone routes were installed to provide high-capacity connectivity across the network, forming the foundation for reliable fibre distribution.

Trace completed ECIN splicing and fibre blowing across distribution networks, followed by comprehensive testing procedures including OTDR and iOLM testing to verify signal quality, performance, and network integrity at key distribution points.

This work contributed to the successful delivery of connectivity to over 23,000 homes passed throughout Amber Valley, helping enable next-generation broadband services within the community.

The project was delivered end-to-end, resulting in a fully installed, tested, and service-ready network.
