Trace successfully delivered a large-scale Full Fibre project between February 2022 and June 2024, supporting the expansion of high-speed fibre connectivity across multiple communities.
The project began with TRR (Test, Rod & Rope) activities to prepare and validate existing duct routes ahead of installation works. Trace carried out small civils works including trenching, duct installation, and reinstatement to enable efficient network deployment across the region.
Cable pulling was completed across both spine and distribution routes, alongside the installation of a 288f spine backbone connecting key network cabinets to provide high-capacity connectivity. Extensive fibre splicing works were undertaken throughout the network, followed by full commissioning and testing to ensure optimal performance and service readiness.
The rollout was successfully delivered end-to-end across Maltby, Wickersley, Dinnington, Killamarsh, and Thurnscoe, contributing to approximately 11,388 homes passed and supporting the availability of full fibre broadband services across the area.
The project was completed to a high standard, resulting in a fully operational, tested, and service-ready network.
